Pelvic Pain

This is not good news. I first experienced pain in my pelvis during my trip to Hong Kong. I probably walked too much and did not have enough rest. The pressure and pulling pain progressed to a stinging, splitting pain whenever I tried to turn my body in bed.

Found out via this leaflet that my pelvic pain, also known as pelvic girdle pain, is common but not normal, during pregnancy. I have mentioned to Dr Chan about the pain previously and she said it is normal and the baby's weight is pressing downwards and I should expect it to get worse.

My next appointment is Thursday and I shall highlight my pelvic pain to her again and see what she says.

"You ate your baby?!"

My mum-in-law dropped by my house the other day to pass us some letters and hubby's cousin wedding invite. Gary, my 6-year-old nephew, tagged along too. As usual, he was concentrating hard on his PSP. He glanced my way when my MIL insisted he greet me.

They just popped by like for five minutes cos my father-in-law was waiting for them downstairs.

Just before Gary left the house, he looked at me and exclaimed "You are fat already!" Both MIL and I laughed. I told him I'm not fat, it's just that I have a baby. He smiled and asked to see the baby and I patted my tummy and told him the baby is inside. He asked incredulously "You ate the baby?!". I replied "Yeah, I just had it for lunch!"

Little Ashley

I was going through the pictures in the computer when I came across some of my childhood pics.

Mummy dearest and me. I wonder how much will Amanda look like me.

With my dear parents. I think my mum and dad are the most gorgeous people in the world.

My very first birthday. Posing with my beloved granny and cousins. I miss my granny very much. And the 3D ship birthday cake is so cool!

With my pretty cousins. I was three here, I think.

My 4th birthday party. I think that's the second and last birthday party I ever had. These are my cousins and everyone (except Benson) are married with kids. I can still remember the taste of that yellow birthday cake!

I'm a Daddy's girl. Here with Dad at Alexandra. I can vaguely remember this outing. Think I'm almost five here?

I had a fantastic childhood and I hope I will be able to provide Amanda with an equally wonderful if not a better one too. And really, I wonder how will she look like. Will she look anything like me when I was a child?

Pre-Natal Massage

I had my very first pre-natal massage this morning and boy, am I glad. I felt totally refreshed and rejuvenated. No more feeling sluggish and heavy...my movements are lighter and I am more flexible. I hope Madam Ida is able to slot me into her busy schedule next week for another session.

I told Madam Ida that I need to pee a lot, especially at night and she said that it could be because my baby has a lot of hair (immediately I thought of the one time I said baby could take after Chow Chow and have lots of hair - ooops!) and the hair is tickling my bladder. Hahah...that's a funny thing. Anyway, it's old wives tale so we shall see if Amanda really got lots of hair when she is born!

Throughout the massage, the home-made massage oil from Ida reminds me Myojo Char Mee...heheh....

Warming Shampoo for Confinement

This warming shampoo was created for mothers who wished to wash their hair during the confinement month. Made with pure essential oils of Lemongrass, Ginger and White Camphor commonly used in Chinese Medicine tradition to warm the body, this wash will limit the exposure of 'wind'. Lemongrass, Ginger and Camphor are known for their relaxing & warming properties. This shampoo also contains pure Canadian Honey, Calendula Flowers and Shea Butter to further moisturize and soothe your hair.

Healing Bottom Spray

This wonderful blend of lavender, chamomile, witch hazel and aloe vera works well in healing bruising and stitches in the perineal area. Soothes delicate, irritated or torn skin. An essential product after childbirth, use this spray on your bottom area after urination or bathing. Serves as a gentle, effective wound and skin cleanser too!

I wanted to order more stuffs, but decided to be prudent and get these more popular and useful items first. Collected the items already. Will review after I've used them.

November Mummies Gathering at Sizzler

After chatting and sharing precious information with fellow November mummies-to-be for so many months on the Singapore Motherhood forum, I finally got the chance to meet up with some of them last night. We had dinner at Sizzler and I had a nice time talking to those seated near me. I guess most of us are feeling the same way towards the impending arrival of our bundles of joy - scared, nervous, excited, can hardly wait.

Looking forward to the next gathering!

Mamil Mama Vanilla

My first time trying Mamil Mama Vanilla and the taste was better than I expected. Not too creamy to make me feel queasy. But guess what, my lactose-intolerance has not eluded me just because I am pregnant. I had diarrhoea the next morning. Maybe it would be a good idea to drink these formula milk whenever I want some kind of detox or when I'm having constipation.

Now I'm gonna cut down the milk intake to every other day.
